When getting tired, we often long for a short break to regain our focus, not just both physically and mentally but also need to give our inner selves to reconnect with the Creator we believed in.  So I quickly leaned back in my seat and fiddled with the phone looking for a spot that can be visited until I came across a picture that caught my attention – A huge cross at the top of the mountain that’s why planning for a weekend was not so long drive has begun.

Later long weeks of loaded work, it's time now to get back to North Cotabato from the dashing megacity of Marawi in Lanao Del Sur as we intend to stay then during the weekend. Early morning, we packed our things to take the 196 kilometers route covering the Iligan City – Talakag – Wao route to reach the city of Alamada where the Asik Asik Falls is located.

Mindanao| A must visit place in Sultan Kudarat Province

During this post epidemic time, I had an occasion to visit the fiefdom of Sultan Kudarat in Mindanao for a week. This fiefdom is located 100 kilometers from General Santos City , the profitable mecca of the SOCCSKSARGEN region (region 12), and a neighbor fiefdom of Maguindanao.  The capital is Isulan, the alternate populous city next to Tacurong City. Sultan Kudarat is named to the stalwart Moro idol the great sultan of Maguindanao in 1851-1671 led the Sultanate of Mindanao during his reign.  The iconic statehouse was primarily erected while the new Arena and the provincial hospital was added recently.  Contrary, the Capitol compount is truly the state of the art with a jaw-dropping structure similar to an ultramodern gallery and structures overseas.

  Blitar city is located in the East Java province, noted as the home of Indonesia’s first president Sukarno and the active volcano named Keludat in the north area of the regency. One weekend in September when I visited Blitar City for the second time and one of the things that I missed during my visit is to explore some side of the Blitar coast.

The month of August,  I went back to Bislig city in Surigao de Sur from Tagum City. It was afternoon when I left Tagum City so I will definitely spend the night on the road because it is about 3 hours drive by private car. This is my first visit to Bislig City during Covid19 so the city of Bislig is in General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Checkpoints at each border are definitely strict in addition to the strict protocols and curfew hours.
