Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur

Molave, a lively town in Zamboanga del Sur, thrives as a center of trade and culture. Its name comes from the abundance of Molave trees in the area. Originally a small settlement in the 1930s, Molave grew quickly with people from all over the Philippines.


In 1948, Molave became a municipality, marking a big step forward. The town celebrates its rich culture with festivals like Kutsitsa and Araw Ng Molave. The Pungopoon Festival, honoring St. Vincent Ferrer, is a beloved tradition that brings the community together.


Molave is known for its craftsmanship and natural beauty, attracting visitors to explore its wonders. With a strong economy and a population of 53,140, led by Mayor Cyril Reo A. Glepa, Molave ranks 436th in the country, showing its progress and stability.
