Martial Law Era:

The 1970s brought challenges to Mindanao, including Dumingag, during the Martial Law era. Land disputes, secessionist movements, and economic crises fueled tensions. In 1982, Dumingag became a significant site when members of the Ilaga militia allegedly killed 12 people in retaliation for the death of their leader.
