Rosario is a municipality in the province of Agusan del Sur in the Caraga Region on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is a third-class municipality with a population of approximately 33,363 (as of the 2020 Census). Rosario is also known for its rich natural resources, such as vast agricultural areas and fertile soils ideal for farming with a vast agricultural economy where the main crops are rice, corn, and coconuts. 

The community also conducts mining activities, especially in  Bakingking and Balit barangays. Visitors can explore the area's many farms and plantations and participate in agricultural activities such as planting and harvesting.  

The town is also known for its traditional basketwork, using nipa and bamboo to make baskets, hats, and mats

Rosario is composed of 12 barangays, namely:

  • Del Monte

HOW TO GET THERE

There are several ways to get to Rosario, Agusan del Sur. If you are coming from Manila, the most common way is to take a flight to Butuan City, which has an airport that services flights from major cities in the Philippines. 

From Butuan City, you can take a bus or van bound for Rosario, which is around 2-3 hours away.

If you are coming from nearby provinces or cities, you can take a bus or van bound for Butuan City and then transfer to another bus or van bound for Rosario.

Another option is to take a private vehicle and drive to Rosario. The town is accessible via the Agusan-Davao Highway, which is a major road network in Mindanao.
