Journey into the Unknown: Exploring the Depths of the Enchanted River | Hinatuan

The river is famous for its deep blue water, which is said to be enchanting as it is believed to be inhabited by spirits and mythical creatures. The Enchanted River is a popular tourist destination that draws tourists from all over the world to marvel at its beauty. 

The river is about 80 meters long and empties into the Philippine Sea. The water is incredibly clear, and visitors can see the river's underwater rock formations, schools of fish, and other marine life. The deep blue color of the river adds to the mystique, and the constant water temperature all year round makes it a great place for swimming and diving.  

The Enchanted River is surrounded by lush greenery and towering limestone cliffs, adding to its natural beauty. For the more adventurous, scuba diving is also an option, allowing visitors to explore the river's underwater caves and tunnels. 

The Enchanted River is open to visitors daily from 6am to 5pm, and an admission fee is required to visit the river. There are plenty of facilities such as toilets, shower rooms, and a souvenir shop. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and drink as there are no restaurants or food stalls in the area. 

Overall, the Enchanted River is a must-see for anyone traveling to the Hinatuan and Surigao del Sur regions. The river's natural beauty and enchanting atmosphere make it a unique and unforgettable experience for every visitor.


HOW TO GET THERE

Here's how to get to Hinatuan from Manila, Cebu, and Davao. 

 From Manila: 

  • By Air – Several airlines operate daily flights from Manila to Butuan City or Davao City. From there it takes about 3-4 hours to reach Hinatuan by van or bus. 
  • By Land - From Manila take a bus to Surigao City or Butuan City and transfer to a van or bus to Hinatuan.   

From Cebu: 

  •  By Air - Several airlines fly daily from Cebu City to Butuan City or Davao City. From there it takes about 3-4 hours to reach Hinatuan by van or bus. 
  • Land and Sea - Take a ferry from Cebu City to Surigao City,  then take a van or bus to Hinatuan. Travel time is approximately 4-5 hours.  

 From Davao: 

  • By Air – Several airlines operate daily flights from Davao City to Butuan City. From there it takes about 3-4 hours to reach Hinatuan by van or bus. 
  • By Land - Take a bus from Davao City to Butuan City or Surigao City,  then transfer to a van or bus to Hinatuan.
