BRIEF HISTORY

Panabo was originally the home to groups of natives called Aetas before it was conquered by the settlers from Luzon and Visayas. Using their maximum crucial tool, the bow and arrow—"pana-sa-boboy" as they name it—they searched for meals which mostly consisted of root crops and meat of untamed boars. Settlers and pioneers from the Visayas and Luzon began to flock to the location throughout the early 1900s looking for a brand new existence withinside the region.

Feeling alienated by the large inflow of settlers withinside the region, the Aeta natives moved similarly into the hinterlands to the west, for that reason making sure that the settler population grow to be the bulk of the populace. The new population began to call the location Panabo, named after the bow and arrow that the Aeta natives constantly carry.

Panabo, till then best a trifling barangay of Tagum, then called Magugpo throughout that time, have become a metropolis on July 19, 1949, via Presidential Proclamation No. 236 of President Manuel A. Roxas. The Tagum Agricultural Development Company, in any other case called TADECO, became based on December 20, 1950, withinside the metropolis of Panabo.

It became the start of the world's largest Cavendish banana plantation that noticed the mass employment of the locals searching for jobs, and the beginning of the unparalleled boom of the metropolis as even large throngs of Visayan migrants settled in town keen to enroll in the plantation's workforce.
