Residents of Kapalong's 14 barangays grill together a kilometer of Banana (Cardaba) and give it away to all visitors and those traversing the town. Yearly, Banana Festival attracts thousands of tourists coming from the province which contributed to economic benefits for the banana industry and local residents.
The festival derived its name from the scientific name of the banana, "Musa Paradisiaca Sapientum"
