This forced the imperial army to retreat into the hills, which later hastened the liberation of Mindanao from Japanese forces. Troops from the 107th Division of the 10th MD were ordered to block road No. 1 in the Ising-Tagum River area to stem retreating enemy forces before the 19th Infantry advanced north of Davao. 

The 19th Infantry began moving northeast from Davao on Highway #1 toward Ising to establish contact with guerrilla forces operating in the area.

The Kahayag Festival is a kind of Christmas lightning contest where each barangay has one (1) entry booth to represent and participated by the community group who work hand in hand to take their best to be highlighted in the spotlight during the final verdict. Most time,  they are using recyclable materials such as scrap metal, used bottles, papers, and other waste products, and turn them into a unique works of art.

Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 494 inhabitants per square kilometer or 1,280 inhabitants per square mile. Its annual revenue of Carmen set to ₱173,062,971.73 for the fiscal year of 2016.
