Talaingod, Davao del Norte | Things to do, Interesting places to visit

Talaingod Municipality is a second-class municipality in  Davao del Norte Province, Philippines. As of the 2020 census, it has a population of 28,333. The city was incorporated under Republic Law No. 7081 on January 29, 1991. The community was formerly part of Kapalong and politically subdivided into 3 barangays, Dagohoy, Palma Gil, and Santo Niño.

Not very famous Talaingod is still part of Davao del Norte. It offers one of the best spots for hikers and stunning green mountain ranges. Climate is a tropically cool and occasional ocean of mist. Talaingod may be unknown to many but the tourism potential is undeniable that may capture the attention of locals of the province and neighbors. In fact, many resorts are now rising beside the highways.

So if you are planning a trip to this town, here are some of my picked places that you should visit in this town;

  • Uraya’s Peak

Uraya's Peak is one of the great spots for dining and day tours on the mountaintop of Talaingod town. They have a restaurant with an amazing view of the mountain ranges. Your accommodations are strategically surrounded by dense trees that give you the feeling of being in a forest.

Uraya's Peak is a forest park in Davao del Norte that offers great scenery of the magnificent Talaingod Mountains. The summit has unique places to relax, including an elevated tree bed, treetop hangouts, primitive hammocks, and Bali-inspired frames.

It is also a famous stop for cyclists,  tourists, and nature lovers who want to enjoy mountain views and  Manobo culture. It's a 10-15 minute walk for a total of 29 attractions. So be prepared and fit if you want to climb the summit/summit. Here you can fix your eyes on  Mossy Forest and Uraya Village and observe the Manobo culture which is one of the ethnic groups in Mindanao.

  • The Ridge View Resorts

  • Cliff’s Café & Restobar

Cliffs Cafe and Restaurant

Situated on a hill and with a fantastic view of the green surroundings, Cliff's Café is another must-see in the city of Talaingod. On cold days, the restaurant is sometimes shrouded in thick fog. The best time to visit is late afternoon so you can still see the stunning surroundings and you can also see the restaurant light up at night. The view here at night is impressive.

  • Talaingod View Deck

Not only does the Talaingod View Deck offer stunning panoramic views of the vast green mountains below and bright blue skies above on a sunny day, but it is also open to the public and has no entry fee. If not, been here, I would insist to put this on your list for future vacations. The View Deck is located in Cabadiangan, Barangay Sto.Nino, going to  Talaingod City Hall, more or less a 10-minutes ride from the national road.

  • Mont Blanc Mountain

During the pandemic travel disruption, we have discovered many travel destinations many have never explored before. Among them are stunning farmhouses and mountain views that would rival the normally visited places like mountain ridges like the Palm Ridge in Sultan Kudarat and the Bansada Viewing Deck in Bagumbayan. But what I found in Davao del Norte that is probably infamous to many. Talaingod has its own version of mountain rages that is astonishing seemingly a vitamin eye.

Mont Blac Mountain

Montblanc Mountain Resort is located in Sitio Melako in Talaingod town and offers a trek with beautiful views of the town's mountain range and places that take you through pine trails. Day tour just costs you 50 pesos and 100 pesos for overnight
