Straight 18 hours road trip going to Zamboanga City

This trip is one of the longest land passages since the reopening of least covid 19 restrictions for trippers. In March 2022, our trip from Davao City Philippines to Zamboanga City began a two citied position on both ends of the Mindanao chart, covering the 683-kilometer route using the google map. We decided on a land trip since there's no air trip at this time.

At 6:00 in the morning when our longest trip has begun. We left Davao City in a private auto, crossing the Davao-Bukidnon road and going to our destination - Zamboanga City. Long peregrinations that bear extreme tolerance and abidance on winding roads and business on the inner roads of the megacity to be covered.

Watch on Youtube;

Bukidnon (first stop)- then we had a brief break in the overview, a place where you can see the overlooking view of the country of Bukidnon. Sikwate (an original chocolate hot drink) with Puto Maya and Suman (a kind of rice cutlet). Also, we went straight again to Cagayan de Oro via the Bukidnon-Talakag route, the highways you have nothing different to do but follow the inflow of winding roads

After a further than 7 hours ride, we reached the megacity of Cagayan de Oro's uptown area for our second stop. We take a short break to have lunch at McDonald's and ordered the best chicken meals at ice cream.

Thereafter, back on the road and travel again going to our destination - Zamboanga City. several towns from small to chaotic cities passing through the province of Misamis Oriental, Iligan City, and Lanao del Norte province. Before dawn, we hit the border of the Zamboanga peninsula - the city of Pagadian.

Pagadian City (third stop) - we've been running for 13 hours ride; we're now on the Zamboanga Peninsula's soil but we still have several hours to spend on the road before reaching Zamboanga City. At this point, we decided to stop for a while to have regale and take our dinner at a small cafƩteria. We also predict that it might be difficult to find another place to eat in the coming municipalities since it getting darker and the is a bit isolated. Take our time, have short rest and we continued our road trip journey to Zamboanga City.

Along the way, heavy rain had hit the road so we braked down our pace, thanks we have an early dinner. The road became darker, difficult of driving vision on narrow roads going to the municipality of Ipil in Zamboanga Sibugay and it was nine (9) in the evening.

At this point, we stop and wondered if we were going to continue our journey or just simply find a place to stay and rest. The rain is still heavy! But my colleague is still agile and active, so, we just go on and continue our midnight journey going to Zamboanga City.  Three (3) hours or more.

We hardly hit Zamboanga City passed twelve (12) in the morning, a new day for us. We conquered this longest trip in 2022 for a 20-hour drive, and it came apparent. We reached this city with no hustle in every provincial border we have gone through for fully vaccinated individuals.

A big thank god for full guidance upon us in this travel journey; we arrived safely and faultlessly on the road

For now, just take a short nap. wake up beforehand to catch the ferry to Basilan by early morning at Zamboanga port.

See you around, Basilan!
