Pagayawan Waterfall of Lanao Del Norte

Here come the Waterfalls! Pagayawan waterfall is another masterpiece of Lanao Del Norte; so-called the waterfalls capital of the Philippines. Located in Barangay Pagayawan in the small town of Bacolod, Pagayawan Falls has taken the spots as another prospect tourism attraction that will be added to its nature's epic collections of the province.

This enchanting waterfall is considered one of the most beautiful and amazing waterfalls on the island of Mindanao.

Pagayawan Falls is described as the less-visited waterfalls in the province by most travel articles I've read because of its challenging roads which are unpaved. But, that was before; roads are widely concreted now from the downtown Bacolod up to the view deck.

Pagayawan falls is located in Barangay Pagayawan, the place is safe as I observed a military Camp base in the area.  From the crossing, just take a 10 to 15-minute motorcycle ride to reach the waterfalls view deck. Of course, you need much time to walk down through the mouth once you are willing to experience getting closer to the waterfalls threshold.

The waterfalls have unique dense with an estimated eighty-five (85) feet height with a series of tiny waterfalls flowing throughout the entrance.  Old folks say that the water flows towards the main crater are coming from Lanao Lake, which is considered one of the largest lakes in the Philippines, expecting that you will feel stronger and powerful cascading waters and sparks that can make you wet.

HOW TO GET THERE
The Closest Airport to reach the small town of Bacolod is the Laguindingan International Airport (CDO). Airline flights are available on a daily basis from major Airports in the Philippines. For commuters from Mindanao; The  Major cities that can be your starting point are Iligan City, Pagadian City, and Ozamis City which is very accessible to any Public Utility Vehicles (Bus or Van).
