Davao region | The best resort in Banaybanay, Davao Oriental - Bonhomie Leisure resorts

Davao Oriental is a province in the Davao Region in the Philippines that is famously known for the World Heritage Park- Mt. Haguimitan situated in San Isidro, Aliwagwag Waterfall in Cateel, and the Surf Capital of Davao - the Mati City. However, most towns in this province are trying to cope up with tourism development spots particularly the beach resorts.

Like in Banaybanay, nowadays, this town is not just famous for rice production produces a first-class variety of rice "Banaybanay" which is exported overseas but also known for a Beach Resort called "Bonhomie Leisure and Resorts". Going here is easy, in fact, this resort is located along the National Highway in Barangay Puntalinao, in between Pantukan Town and Banaybanay Proper.

We visited this resort once again to celebrate the birthday of our dearest super Kentoy. I contact one of the nice resorts in Pantukan for booking but unfortunately no response but we still decide to get there since it was the original plan. Unfortunately, the Ocean World Resort is only available for sightseeing on that day. So, we decided to find another place and the birthday boy will take the wheel.

In short, the birthday boy requested the Bonhomie Leisure and Resort as expected since he came here on several occasions. This resort is famous to him for its clean kid's pool, a relaxing environment with a nice beachfront, and still considered as not touristy.

The entrance fee is very affordable with lots of enjoyable facilities while the staffs are very accommodating. But, of course, corkage would be charged if you bring food and beverages. This resort has artificial white sand beachfront with enjoyable blue-green water in moderate depth suitable for children to sailing; however, children still need to be monitored when dipping into saltwater to ensure their safety.

Take your chance to have a memorable dining experience at the floating cottage by ordering a set of food at the restaurant. The resort also offers diving packages outdoor sports and other water sports activities.

This place is a perfect place for family hang out, chatting with the group while sitting is in the beachfront, whereas several sunbeds can be used for free while enjoying the beauty of the sunset that reflects in the seawater, the mountain views, and the Samal Island.  You can also experience the relaxing breeze from the ocean and mountains and nothing else to kill but time.

Bon Homie Leisure and Resort is open from 6:00 AM up to 9:00 PM

HOW TO GET THERE
If you're from outside Mindanao, the closest airport to get here is in Davao City (Davao Bangoy Internationa Airport) or you can also reach via Butuan Airport.

From Davao City, catch up a Bus (Bachelor) or Van from Ecoland Terminal bound for Mati City, Lupon, or Governor Generoso/ Pundaguitan. If you're from the airport, there is a Bus Stop at the front of Jose Maria College located on the right of the airport exit.

From Butuan City Airport, reach the Butuan Bus terminal by Jeepney/ Multicab or tricycle. At the terminal, catch up a bus bound for Davao City then, get off to Tagum City Grand Terminal. Then, take another Bus ride going to Mati City, Lupon, or Governor Generoso/ Pundaguitan. It takes more than an hour to reach Bon Homie Leisure and Resort.

TRAVEL NOTE:  Better to ask the Bus driver or dispatcher if the bus can drop off the passenger at Bonhomie Resort; at some time, the bus can only be allowed to drop a passenger at the town terminal.

ENJOY YOUR STAY
