Quick visit at Washington DC, Lincoln Memorial, The White House

Washington DC is founded after the American Revolution as a set of the government of the newly independent country and was named to the first President and founding father of the United States of America, George Washington.

We stopover in DC for a day before we flew to Los Angeles. Still have time, so we to walk around the city. We ride a cab to go to a famous landmark around the downtown area and first stop at Lincoln Memorial. Though was built to honor the 16th president of the United States Abraham Lincoln died by assassination but his memories remain.

In front of the Lincoln Memorial was the Washington Monument. This was built in commemorating George Washington and believe to be the tallest stone structure in the world made of marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss.

After taking some shots, we made a short walk through 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW where the White House, the  Powerful President's workplace, and residence are located.

The Capitol Building is located at Capitol Hill near the National Mall claiming to be one of the symbols of democracy and home of Congress legislative branch of the U.S. federal government working together. The building has a unique architectural design and is one of the best structures I've seen this day.

At 10th Street,  we ended up at the famous The Petersen House where Lincoln spends his final hours.

Apart from only once in a while in this place, it is also one of the farthest we travel. It is very memorable to us to be in this place.
