Mindanao | The La Palmera Mountain Ridge of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat

On weekend, using google maps! we traveled for a further than a 3-hour drive from Davao City to fulfill our DIY Tour - the La Palmera Mountain Ridge in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. Before lunch, we traveled from  Davao City traversing Digos - Makila - Tacuring highway then turned left again at Datu Paglas junction.

In less than 30 minutes we will reach Columbio town. Along the way, the road is under construction, so we need to turn left and take an indispensable route, unpaved and rocky. Got surprised!

Before reaching the Poblacion, a crossing pointing the direction to the left going the Palmera Mountain Ridge. The road is indeed more grueling while reaching barangay Sucob. Deciding to return back. but not! And. . .  this trip going the Palmera Mountain Ridge is just started.

I snappily got out of the auto to ask for directions. our maps just end in this village. the road is passable by the private auto, according to the locals. We've gone through over down the hill approaching the winding unpaved roads, and the small swash. Just continuously follow the inked going to the mountain crest.

After crossing the small swash, the air came different as we’re passing thousands of Palm trees. The Climate is getting cold while the surroundings became greener.  I'm like driving in the middle of nowhere we reach the Park entrance; the rest is heaven.

Palmera Mountain Ridge is a typical adventure with a bit of hiking but not extreme. It's girdled with palm trees colony which gives the natural beauty of the vicinity while the mountain crests serve as the main lodestones.

The area has several facilities like traditional and ultramodern rooms, a private pool and more. Also, several spots that can produce Bali inspire images can be used for free; The mountain ridges are indeed Batanes alike, likewise, if you love filmland. Bring your jacket, the climate is tropically cool in the morning and in the autumn.

HOW TO GET THERE

The closest Airport is the General Santos International Airport (GES) located in General Santos City in South Cotabato if you’re from outside Mindanao Island.

From Gensan City, catch up a Bus going to Tacurong City. then, a jeepney trip going to Columbio town.

IF you’re driving a private vehicle, the fastest way to reach Columbio is to pierce the recent road from General Santos City passing the Koronadal City - Lutayan - Columbio Road.

Still, Catch up a Bus going to Tacurong City, If you’re from Davao City and Cotabato Area. Get off to Datu Paglas Crossroad or at the terminal. Then, catch up a jeepney or Van going to Columbio Town. Beforehand, there is a limited trip schedule per day. Better to be early!
