Irenggolo Waterfalls, Kediri in Indonesia

A beautiful tourism magnet indeed in Kediri is underrated since this small town is far from the airport and the beautiful spots in East Java. Irenggolo falls (Air Terjun Irenggolo) is one of the area's well-known attractions. The waterfall name derives from the legend army commander, Iro Manggolo that lost to the War and fled into these falls to the end of his life, later, the villagers found him

Although this place has a mysterious background, a group of people flock here during the weekend to relax and meditate. Indigenous residents gathered presently for traditional rituals and galas during Suro month.

Located in Jalan Besuki, Desa Jugo, Kecamatan Mojo, the waterfall is accessible by motorcycle traversing the asphalt road with a bit curve most time. At the endpoint, there is an indigenous village that can be entrusted for your motorcycle paid parking.

  • Entrance fee  - 7,000 rupiahs (less than $1)
  • Parking Fee   - 5,000 rupihas (less than $1)

From the parking, have a short walk down to the Waterfall with pave road; there are flora and fauna, and other living indigenous plants can be found while walking. Air Terjun Irenggolo is not literally high, a level of gravestone brilliants as a ubiquitous vessel of overhanging waters from 20 meters is enough to enjoy the day. It's been 5 months without rain, it is given that little water aqueduct toward in this visit.

This expedition, I can say as on an epic travel experience in Kediri. No wonder why a lost commander in War chooses to live in this area at the end of his life. This place is truly a nature’s gift that helps the broken wound to be healed, giving peace of mind and relaxation.
