Digos City | The virgin falls of Davao Del Sur

The Virgin falls is located in the small village of Balatikan in the highland of Kapatagan, Digos City.  It is thread oftentimes by several mountaineers passing throughout the Kapatagan trail since it became one of the jump-off points of the tallest mountain in the Philippines, Mount Apo. In fact, a portion of Kapatagan is still covered by the protected areas of Mount Apo Natural Park.

Digos City is a second-class city and the provincial capital of Davao Del Sur; located in between Davao City and General Santos City. Going here is not a problem, it is very accessible to any public Utility vehicle. Agriculture plays an important role in the digiseńos as the main source of their livelihood. Once you get there, try their best sweet variety (carabao) of mango which is really known locally and export abroad that put the city in the namesake "City of Sweet mangoes".

The waterfall is Bounded by an enormous rock formation that could need extra effort and a little experience on hiking. Expect that the thick forest vegetation and wild grass will give you a sort of lifetime souvenir while your feet will be exposed to sharp rocks and hazardous ledges before reaching the base of the waterfall. The Virgin falls is about twenty (20) meters high with a small size pool at its base; flowing with cold spring water and enough to make you chill once you dare to take a dip.

After the challenging trek,  the natural beauty of the environment is truly a stress reliever. It exposes you to a different level of happiness. The eye-catching designs of wild wet rocks are hilarious, once you shout,  it will respond by surround echo while the awe-inspiring bird chirps and water streaming will be the best music that you’ll be heard.
