Dhen Yho's Place, the perfect summer getaway in Davao del Sur

This year, the country is expected to experience the warmest climate condition this summer and maybe the beaches are the least option to go.   If you want to experience cool weather this summer, get packed and head on to the summer capital of Davao del Sur. in the small community of Kapatagan in Digos City, lies with several spring resorts that are perfect for summer vacation and scaping a bumpy city life. Kapatagan is also known as the fruit basket capital of the Region and home of several mountain resorts and the Peak.  This is also an entry point for those tourists flocking at Mt. Apo, the highest Peak in the country, through the Kapatagan Trail.

Although there are several places in Barangay Kapatagan that give you a pleasant summer experience, this resort called  Dhen Yho’s Place, drives you to another level of traveling expectations. Dhen Yho’s Place is the perfect spot to experience the cool breeze, panoramic beauty of natural Natures, rolling hills, and a place that is really enjoyable through engagement with a green environment.  It is the best place whether you travel alone or with your families.

Dhen Yho’s Place is about 27 kilometers or about an hour's drive from downtown Digos City. The road condition is good, a concrete road with a little bit zigzag heading Kapatagan road while the resort's location is just a few meters away from the highway; means it is very accessible.  

There are several amenities that could be enjoyed in this place; features the cold spring pool, small cottages, playground, room accommodations, Agong House, and unique sculpture designs made by very famous artist Kublai Millan. Here are some pieces of information and entrance fees

  • Adult – 100 pesos
  • Child – 50  pesos
Room Accommodations
  • P1, 500 (29$) - good for two (2) person
  • P2, 500 (48$) - good for four (4) person
Tent Rental 
  • P500 ($10)     - good for two (2) person
  • P3, 500 ($67) - good for four (20) person
  • NOTE:              bringing your own tent will charge you P100 ($2)  per person

HOW TO GET THERE
Digos City is in between Davao City and General  Santos City, where both City has an International Airport. General Santos City is  89 kilometers far (more or less 2-hour ride) while Davao City is 63 kilometers (almost 2-hour ride) going to Digos City downtown. Air conditioning buses will give you a more convenient and comfortable travel.

From General Santos City
From the Airport, have a taxi ride going to Bulaong Terminal. From there, catch up a Bus bound for Davao City, then, get off to Digos City Integrated Terminal.

From Davao City
From the Airport, take a metered taxi ride to reach Ecoland Integrated Bus Terminal. From there, catch up a bus bound for Digos City, General Santos City, or Kidapawan City. Then, get off to Digos City Integrated Terminal.  Hint: When you ride with Bus bound for Kidapawan, they normally pass through Kapatagan junction at Barangay Cogon; better to ask the bus driver or conductor.

At Digos City 
At Digos Bus Terminal, Hire a tricycle (30 pesos) to reach Barangay Cogon Junction. Then, look for the Motorcycle (Habal-habal) Terminal to reach Kapatagan; just tell them which resort do you go to. The driver will charge you for 100 pesos each passenger per ride. If you’re alone, the driver will ask you to pay P200 pesos good for two people or try them negotiate for the cheaper fare ( 150 pesos is fine); or you need to wait for another passenger.
